Expansion for Graphite Company

Due to its continuing success, Gee Graphite Ltd (Dewsbury, West Yorks, England) has announced plans for the expansion of its production plant. It will more than double its manufacturing, warehouse and administrative facilities as part of this programme, which will also include a revamp of its logo and livery and new corporate literature.

Chemical plants and power stations are just two of the many industries which rely on the in-depth knowledge of Gee Graphite's R&D team, who put materials through exhaustive tests to devise new products.

The company was also the first in the UK to set up and produce asbestos-free gaskets and it has sole distribution rights with one of the finest graphite manufacturers in Japan. This enables Gee to offer a high purity flexible graphite foil, as well as a range of graphite laminates with cores of nickel, stainless, polyurethane, tanged and expanded stainless steel.

Gee Graphite also has a fleet of 8 water-jet cutting machines, making it the largest and best equipped profile cutting shop in the UK, according to the company. Gee says that customers are reaping the benefits from these computer controlled water-jet cutting machines which are proving to be both more efficient and cost effective than rival cutting methods, as no tooling costs are necessary in the production of gaskets and components.

"In a vast number of engineering situations, complex components have to be assembled and joined with seals that will withstand a variety of pressures, temperatures and vibrations," says Managing Director Colin Gee, who adds that this makes the specification and utilisation of suitable gaskets a vital element for success.
