Goudsmit Products Fitted in V&B Tile Plant

Recently, Goudsmit Magnetic Systems (Waalre, Holland) has supplied a continuous cleaning Clean Flow magnet to Villeroy & Boch. This magnet is designed for the continuous cleaning of ceramic powders used in the mass production of wall and floor tiles.

The magnet checks the raw materials for iron at the beginning of the production cycle. Because of its low overall height, the magnet can be relatively easily integrated into the existing production process. A great advantage for V&B, says Goudsmit, is that production may continue while the ceramic powders are cleaned. The magnet is standard supplied in a completely dust-free housing. The present environmental laws make this an absolute requirement.

The Clean Flow has two magnet drawers which are mounted one above the other. These drawers - also known as grid magnets - consist of powerful Neoflux (neodymium-iron-borium) magnets. A magnetic value of 12,000 gauss is realised. The raw material twice encounters a pair of strong magnets, resulting in a high de-ironing level and even enabling the separation of iron dust (30 microns).
