Johnson Brothers Proves Use of Fotocal Paper for Mock-Ups

Fotocal waterslide decal paper from Tullis Russell Coaters Ltd (Hanley,
Stoke-on-Trent, England) is being used by leading designers internationally
to create excellent mock-ups of designs before and during product launch.

Colette Bishop, Senior Designer at Johnson Brothers, explained: "Fotocal is
an invaluable tool for our design department. It is extremely versatile and
saves time in the development of ceramic designs. It allows designs to be
approved on a 3D shape rather than in the form of flat artwork.

"In the past, designs were hand painted onto ware or paper printed designs
were glued onto the ceramic items. This product has shortened the design
launch stage as Fotocal decorated samples have been demonstrated by Johnson
Brothers to gain internal and market approval.

"Fotocal decorated ranges have actually sold new patterns, been exhibited at
international exhibitions and used for product photography during the launch
process."

All that is required is a computer generated design and a laser printer - or
even just a photocopier - to enable the user to proof designs on product
before investing in screen or litho print production.

Fotocal is also suitable for creating mock-ups for wax, plastic, wood and
metal substrates.
