Czech 'First' for Fornocerâmica

Portugal's premier kiln manufacturer - Fornocerâmica SA (Leiria, Portugal) - has for the first time installed kilns in the Czech Republic. The order called for three fixed hearth chamber kilns.

The customer in this case was Haas & Czjzek s r.o. (Horni Slavkov), thought to be the country's very first and oldest surviving porcelain factory, established back in 1792.

The first kiln was a 5 cubic metre chamber firing to 1200°C. The second has the same capacity but fires to 1410°C on a 7.5 hour firing cycle. The third kiln has a capacity of 3.6 cubic metres and fires to 1200°C.

Pictures of the kilns have been added to Fornocerâmica's web site: www.fornoceramica.pt
