Enhanced Decal (Transfer) Application Machine

data M Engineering in Germany has introduced an enhanced version of its COPRA(r) DecalApplicator. This decoration machine works like a colour laser printer where the paper is, so to speak, simply exchanged for the chinaware which is to be decorated.

Digital photographs or pictures can be generated or modified on PCs or MACs and are sent to the machine's computer control. A colour laser printer is used to apply ceramic toner on to a plastic backing film. A tempered printing pad is used to transfer the digitally printed picture on to the ware. The laser printer offers four colours. Several printers can be interconnected and special colours are also possible.

The whole system can be easily changed to conventional heat release transfer application modus by moving aside the laser printer mounted on a rail system. Due to the fact that the hexapod robot driven COPRA(r) DecalApplicator allows a kiss-fit printing technique, almost all kinds of ware can be decorated - including cups or bowl-type workpieces requiring a minimum of changeover time.
