'Element Six' - a New Name for the Future

From 1 October 2002, the De Beers Industrial Diamonds group of companies (Debid), including Drukker International, became Element Six. The new corporate and brand name is derived from the fact that diamond is a form of carbon, the sixth element in the periodic table.

Element Six will continue to be the full line supplier of all existing Debid and Drukker product ranges, while the individual product names and product quality will not change; nor will product packaging. However, the label designs and size will change to reflect the new corporate and brand identity.

Christian Hultner, Managing Director of Element Six, said: "Our philosophy and goals have not changed and I believe the new branding will focus our group of companies and their activities and make us even more successful in the market place".

The company is described as the world's leading supplier of high quality superabrasives and industrial diamond materials, including both diamond and the complementary superabrasive cubic boron nitride (cBN). These materials are available both in their single crystal and polycrystalline forms, for abrasive and non-abrasive industrial uses.

Diamond and cBN products are mainly used in the manufacture of tools for applications including drilling, sawing, cutting, grinding and polishing of different materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, natural stone and concrete, wood based materials, plastics, glasses and ceramics. Recent additions to the product range are a group of chemical vapour deposition diamond products.
