Degussa-Hls Increases Prices for Rubber Blacks in Europe
Degussa-Hls AG, worldwide the second largest carbon black manufacturer with production sites in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia, announces a price increase of 40 (fourty) Euro per metric ton for its range of rubber blacks effective November 15th, 2000, in Europe.
A continuing combination of the weakness of the Euro and unprecedented high prices for crude oil and crude oil products is leading to substantially higher carbon black production costs. Degussa-Hls AG is forced to pass on a part of these increased costs to the European market.
