data M Introduces New Software for Pad Printing Development

German decorating and decal technology specialist data M Engineering is now offering its COPRA(r) FEA software programme for pad printing in an improved version. As a result of the upgrade, the user now gets information about pressure, forces and air enclosures. Additionally, the sequence of different contact situations between printing pad and work piece - for example, the plate to be decorated - can be visualised on the computer monitor in an animated presentation.

Firstly, the software programme can be used to analyse the transfer results of existing printing pads. Secondly, COPRA FEA can be used to optimise pad shapes or even to develop entirely new pad shapes for new plates and decals.

The company says that in this way, the number of practical trials is significantly reduced and so new pads can be developed much faster and more economically.

data M is also offering the analysis, optimisation and even development of new printing pads as a service to industry. In order to achieve the best results in the analysis and troubleshooting of existing printing pads, data M scans every pad by means of a recently installed special purpose scanning unit.
