Carolina Ceramics Doubles Brick Production Capacity

Carolina Ceramics Brick Co (Columbia, SC, USA) has worked with Ceric Inc to add a second Ceric kiln with a production capacity of 40 million bricks per year. This project also includes a new automatic setting machine, 60 new kiln cars and a new dryer with an integrated design as part of a cooperation between Carolina Ceramics and Ceric.

The new tunnel kiln is complete with automated car handling system and new automatic kiln car cleaner. Construction of this major kiln project began at the end of 2004 and, with its installation, Carolina Ceramics sees its total production capacity double to 80 million bricks per year. An existing tunnel kiln and dryer were removed in the Columbia plant to allow the space for the additional automated facility.
