Capital Refractories Limited is pleased to announce the acquistion of the assets of Casting Supplies Limited

Casting Supplies Limited (CSL) manufacture high quality ceramic products including pouring cups, crucibles, cupels and scorifiers. The company has been in operation since 1974, has a loyal customer base and are well renowned for their excellent quality products. Many of their customers are those of Capital Refractories, and will be familiar with Capital’s iso-pressed, vibro-cast and one-shot crucibles, along with induction furnace linings, gas diffusers and pre-cast shapes which are produced in their state-of-the-art specialised ceramics plant.

Capital and Casting Supplies will liase with all CSL customers to understand requirements for the coming months and to ensure a smooth transfer of the manufacturing operation. This transfer will be carefully controlled and will take place over the next few months, supported by training and assistance from CSL.

Capital consider this as an excellent opportunity to take a proven product range, further develop it and offer into additional markets. The synergies with the current range of products offered by Capital make the assets of CSL a logical addition to the company.

Capital Refractories is one of the largest independent refractory and industrial ceramics companies in the UK. It has been manufacturing, supplying and installing high quality refractory and ceramic products to metal melters world-wide for over 50 years. Capital provides a wide range of bespoke ceramic products such as iso-pressed and cast crucibles for investment casters, along with nozzles, tubes and ladles as well as dry rammed induction furnace linings. Gas diffusers are available for the treatment of melts across a range of hot metal industries, increasing the quality of the metal and reducing wear on the refractory. Capital Injection Ceramics Limited (CICL) is a subsidiary company based in Northants, and it provides ceramic cores for the investment casting industry. Capital is accredited to ISO standards – ISO 9001:2000, and CICL is currently working towards the additional rigorous aerospace standard AS19100 which it should achieve by March 09.

The acquistion of assets and further product knowledge will continue with Capital’s promise to be a ‘one-stop-option’ for all refractory needs. Existing customers of CSL will no longer need to look further for their other requirements, but can rest assured knowing that all of their refractory needs can be catered for by the Capital Refractories group.
