BBA Acquires AQF Technologies

BBA Group PLC announced today that it has completed the acquisition of AQF Technologies, LLC. BBA previously owned 15% of AQF and has now acquired the 85% interest held by AQF Holdings, Inc., an affiliate of Hoechst Celanese Corporation.

Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, AQF is a technology driven nonwovens company offering high value products designed for niche markets. AQF will focus on value-added filtration products applying its proprietary and patented technologies. AQF will also function as a technical center for BBA's filtration division.

The acquisition is the latest in a series of transactions demonstrating BBA's commitment to develop filtration as a core business. In October 1999, existing BBA Nonwovens companies integrated their filtration resources to form BBA Filtration, and in June 2000, BBA acquired Snow Filtration LLC. The acquisition allows BBA Filtration to deliver additional products and services in filtration/separation, adsorption and delivery market segments.

BBA Nonwovens is a leading international supplier of nonwoven materials for hygiene and industrial applications. With 19 plants in 9 countries, BBA supplies a large variety of technologies to meet a multitude of material requirements.
