New Bangladeshi Sanitaryware Plant Gets Underway

The complete plant for the production of vitreous china sanitaryware installed by Sacmi for Fahim in Bangladesh has been started up with success, it is reported. This turnkey plant was installed within the industrial complex of 'Fahim Village' and set up inside a modern building a short distance from the existing plant already in operation for handling blocks of granite.

Fahim Village is just one of the production works belonging to Fahim Sanitary Wares Ltd. With its headquarters based in Karwanbazar (near Dhaka), Fahim Sanitary Wares can now rely on a brand new system able to produce 180,000 sanitaryware pieces per year. The production plant has also been designed to take into account possible future expansion up to 700,000 pieces a year.

All the machinery and auxiliary equipment installed (air conditioning, compressed air, slip preparation) were supplied and installed by Sacmi. Know-how and training for technicians, as well as supervision for one year of production, were included in the contract.

The project was financed thanks to the determination and commitment of Fahim's top management, which has made a substantial investment in the whole industrial complex. Fahim's objective is, in fact, not just to consolidate its position within the home market in Bangladesh, but also to produce sanitaryware for export. For this reason, Fahim has chosen to use machines entirely supplied by Sacmi, in addition to adopting top quality raw materials, in order to satisfy the high standards and expectations of the export market.
