New Technologies Presented by Ancora Group

Ancora Group presented two new systems at Tecnargilla 2008, the 21st International Exhibition on Technologies and Supplies for the Ceramic and Brick Industries, held in Rimini from 30 September to 4 October. These were described as a revolutionary cold treatment for installed ceramic flooring, an evolution of the HiCoat integrated system and a high definition glass printing system.

HiCOAT Cold treatment
The international ceramic market has, according to Ancora, recognised and welcomed the innovation of HiCoat Coating System, the protecting system of porcelain stoneware and natural stone based on nanotechnology, patented and realised by Ancora Group together with Nanoquadrat, a German chemical company.

HiCoat Product is a chemical compound penetrating deeply into superficial tile microporosity thus sealing it and protecting it in the long term from staining agents. The combination of HiCoat Machine and HiCoat Product is to be considered a treating system.

Today the group located in Sassuolo in Italy presents a further new system, a solution to the cleaning issue and to the treatment of installed flooring.

The surface treated with HiCoat does not show any absorption of staining substances which can be then easily removed remaining on the surface. The coating fills the pores, creates cross-links with the material with glass-seeming characteristics: dirtiness cannot penetrate into pores, thus enabling its easy removal.

When there is a cleanliness problem on an installed flooring, not previously treated, Ancora Group is able to solve it with the new Cold treatment HiCoat, a combination of 3 different products:

The products are directly applied onto the floor: the cleaning product firstly works on the surface, the protecting treatment penetrates deeply into the tile microporosity, thus becoming part of the tile and definitely sealing the microporosity.

The new Cold treatment HiCoat has undergone specific tests at the Centro Ceramico di Bologna, obtaining the certification for product performance.

High definition glass printing
Ancora Group also presented another innovative technique for cold digital printing meaning high quality photographs printed directly on glass, resulting in a final product of high aesthetic quality. Decoration is not realised through glazing, but through digital printing with a 1220 x 1220 dpi definition, using a production cycle patented by Dikanta, a company in the Ancora Group.
