Al Anwar Ceramics Expands Oman Plant Further

Al Anwar Ceramics, one of the most famous and reputable brands among the GCC region ceramic tile producers, is heading for further expansion of its plant in Nizwa in Oman. Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) is the partner for equipment and technology.

During the month of July 2007, Al Anwar Ceramic and Sacmi finalised the supply of the third phase expansion equipment after some months of technical discussion and optimisation and technological laboratory tests to find the optimal raw material composition for the wet milling process.

The supply includes raw materials feeding system, two discontinuous, 34 cubic metre capacity mills, powder feeding to presses, two PH2090 presses feeding one horizontal dryer with five layers 16.9 metres long and 2.85 metres wide. After this the product is fed to the second completely and fully equipped glazing lines, and then to the kiln via handling and storage equipment.

The kiln is the newest FBS double layer kiln which is 2.85 metres wide and 140.2 metres long with a capacity of nearly 11,000 sq m/day. Dust collection and glaze preparation complete the supply.

With this supply Sacmi is confirmed to be the main partner of Al Anwar Ceramics and this new expansion is expected to be started up in late spring 2008.

After this further investment, Al Anwar Ceramics will be able to target a total daily capacity of more than 30,000 sq m, producing both floor and wall tiles, as well as special pieces and trims, using only local raw materials.
