ADM Raises Spray-Dried Output

Adelino Duarte da Mota SA, or ADM, the main supplier of spray-dried powders and raw materials to Portugal’s ceramic tile industry, has set its sights on raising output. To achieve this it has once again chosen a Sacmi-supplied solution. Next September ADM will start up a fourth spray-dried powder production plant.

The new line, currently at the assembly stage, is the third to be supplied by Sacmi to the Leiria-based spray-drying centre. The new production set-up consists of a continuous MTC 108 mill with an internal volume of 108 cubic metres, driven by an inverter-equipped AC motor. There is also an ATM 65 spray dryer, capable of evaporating 6,500 litres of material per hour.

This cutting-edge solution will allow ADM to increase porcelain tile spray-dried powder output to a staggering 15 tons per hour and so allow the company to respond to the increased demand for glazed porcelain tiles in the Portuguese market. This Sacmi-supplied plant will also enhance the flexibility and versatility of the company’s production lines, which cover the entire customer range of customer demand, from monoporosa to white body tiles.
