Zircotec Nominated Runner-Up for Oxfordshire Innovation Enterprise Award 2009

Zircotec (Didcot, Oxon, England) was nominated as Runner-Up within the ‘Best Precision Engineering Category’ of the Oxford Innovation Enterprise Award 2009.

The result was announced at an awards ceremony held at the Oxford University Said Business School. The judges commented that there was little to separate the finalists and Zircotec said it was naturally extremely pleased to have been awarded the prize.

The company said: “Zircotec has continued to grow throughout the recession, with its continued focus on supplying a range of premium high quality products that meet specific market needs. Additionally we have continued to invest in ongoing product development and have added a number of new and exciting high-tech products to our portfolio, the most recent being our new lightweight flexible ceramic heat shield material, the sales of which are already exceeding expectations. As a testament to the company’s success we have continued to recruit additional staff to work at our factory in Oxfordshire”.

Zircotec has this week been attending and exhibiting its products at the Professional MotorSport World Expo in Köln, Germany, where entry to the show is specifically limited to motorsport professionals worldwide.

Motorsport professionals attending the show have had the opportunity to see Zircotec's new product, ZircoFlex™, which is believed to be the first ever flexible ceramic heat shield material. The product has been shown to reduce surface temperatures by up to 64%. It can be applied to cars throughout the motorsport industry and is currently being trialled by a number of Formula One teams.
