New Production Lines Opened at Yixing Haldenwanger

Two new production lines at Yixing Haldenwanger - a division of Morgan Technical Ceramics - were officially opened by the Mayor of Yixing City, Mr Shi Zuneng, in October.

The new lines have created 30 new jobs at the factory and will enable the company to meet increased demand for its industrial alumina-silicate and fused silica rollers, used in the production of wall and floor tiles and also safety glass.

Yixing Haldenwanger is one of two manufacturing sites in China owned by Morgan Technical Ceramics, part of The Morgan Crucible Co PLC. Warren Knowlton, CEO of Morgan Crucible, was one of several dignitaries who attended the official opening.

He said: "The development of this world-class facility in China means we can continue to provide our customers with innovative, high-quality products, enabling them to experience continued success in the coming years".

The ceramic rollers developed by Yixing Haldenwanger are used all over the world and according to the company are renowned for their durability in a wide range of specialist applications. The alumina-silicate rollers (trade name Sillimantin) are used in roller kilns for the firing of wall and floor tiles while the fused silica rollers are used in temper furnaces that manufacture flat safety glass for the construction industry.
