More New Features Announced for Showcase 2001

New plans and features continue to be announced to ensure the biggest promotion and success for 'Showcase 2001' - the fifth such event for the smaller ceramic manufacturers to be held in Stoke-on-Trent. To enable contact to be made with buyers in as many ways as possible, another new feature for the 2001 event will be a video conference link.

Ceramic buyers and retailers who may be short of time or who may not be travelling to Stoke-on-Trent or even the UK at the time of the Ceramic Shows, will be able to use this video conference facility which will link Stoke with locations around the world. This opportunity is being set up by The HotHouse in Longton, enabling buyers to talk directly to exhibitors that they want to contact and to view their product range.

The first mailing of the Showcase 2001 ticket application invitation will outline this face-to-face video opportunity. Interested buyers will then be contacted and an appointment time arranged for their conference requirements to go ahead at any time during the Showcase opening hours.

Speaking of the plan, Andrew Briggs, manager of The HotHouse, said: "This facility clearly demonstrates the simplicity of dealing with people face-to-face on a global basis. It will firmly place the City and Showcase 2001 at the heart of worldwide communications."

Another new aspect to next year's Showcase will be the mailing of a Buyer's Guide, being prepared instead of a catalogue, and which will be issued prior to the event to all those registering for tickets. This will enable buyers to plan their visit and to have full information about exhibitors and it will also offer information about local facilities, such as hotels and restaurants.
