Modernisation of Roof Tile Factory in Serbia

Commissioning is due to take place in summer 2005 of a new accessories factory in Novi Becej in Serbia. The order was won by Keller HCW GmbH (Ibbenbueren-Laggenbeck, Germany) after its successful project for Industrija Gradevinske Keramike POLET, a member of the Croatia based Nexe Group, to modernise the Novi Becej clay roof tile plant, originally built in 1975.

The production range of the modernised roof tile plant comprises various interlocking roof tiles with a size of approximately 14 roof tiles per square metre. The modernisation project took just five months and the scope of delivery and services included the replacement of the handling equipment, the process engineering equipment for the tunnel dryer and tunnel kiln, the complete control system, as well as new machinery for the loading and unloading of kiln cars and the packing of the finished products.

Rieter-Werke (Konstanz, Germany) - another member of the Ceric Group - refurbished the slug feed and a four-section roof tile press and also delivered a new extruder.

The annual output of 24 million roof tiles is obtained in the plant by a seven-day, three shifts/day operation. Drying takes place in a tunnel dryer in 24 hours and the firing in a tunnel kiln on a 34-hour cycle.
