Next Generation in Technical Product Specification

BSI Business Information has announced the newly revised and renamed best practice publication for design engineering BS8888:2004 Technical Product Specification. It contains a wealth of information including 151 normative and informative references (of which 55 are new) that outline key criteria for best practise design work. Particularly, it cross-references the new BS ISO 1101 that takes into account 20 years of Geometrical Product Specification (GPS) development.

Using BS 8888 encourages a common system, a common language and a common understanding. It will help designers to order their output of design so that a product concept will be realised through the manufacturing process, no matter where located, in a way that avoids ambiguity or misunderstanding.

BSI Business Information is also running a one-day event, delivered by industry experts, that will enable design engineers to effectively use geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
