USA Sanitaryware Maker is first to take Revolutionary New Machine

Porvair Ceramics (King's Lynn, Norfolk, England) has just announced the first sale of its revolutionary system for pressure casting WC bowls (closets), completed with Peerless Pottery Inc (Rockport, IN, USA).

Porvair explains that its unique mould design allows up to eight bowl moulds to be hung on a single overhead beam machine. The system can deliver capital cost savings per piece produced of up to 250% compared to other machines, says the company. This means that sanitaryware manufacturers can now realise the benefits of pressure casting bowls at an affordable price.

"We believe that this system at last makes pressure casting bowls economically attractive," said Stan Weaver, President of Peerless Pottery. Porvair Ceramics' managing director, Alistair Tait, added: "This product reaffirms Porvair as leaders in providing innovative products to the ceramics industries. We are looking forward to working with Peerless to implement this exciting project."
