ACerS and NIST Announce New Phase Equilibria Diagram Database

The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and the USA's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have announced the release of the ACerS-NIST Phase Equilibria Diagrams CD-ROM Database Version 3.1.

Phase diagrams are used throughout the ceramic industry to understand and control the complex phenomena that increasingly underlie advanced industrial production and materials performance. To service the need for reliable phase diagram data, ACerS and NIST jointly publish a series of critically evaluated phase diagrams.

The new database contains more than 20,000 diagrams previously published in phase volumes produced as part of the joint programme, i.e. from Volumes I to XIV; Annuals 91, 92 and 93; High Tc Superconductors I & II; Zirconium and Zirconia Systems; and Electronic Ceramics.

Enhanced search capabilities allow searches by authors, system components, language of the original publication, original publication year, series volume number, full bibliographic reference of the paper and figure captions from diagrams published in Phase Equilibria Diagrams volumes. The diagram preview feature makes searching quick and easy and search results are displayed on the same page and list the records returned.
