Lafarge Appoints MHP as Preferred Supplier
Following a year-long trial, Derbyshire-based Materials Handling Products
(MHP) has been named as the preferred UK supplier for screen media to
Lafarge Aggregates.Lafarge was looking to improve its supply chain management and involved all
significant UK suppliers of screen media in the trial. MHP was selected as
the preferred UK supplier for its scope of range, price and service and the
agreement will result in cost savings for Lafarge.Suzanne Thompson, Supplies Manager for Lafarge Aggregates, said: "The
project proved difficult from a procurement perspective as we use such a
large range of screen media in various sizes, thickness and materials. We
took the decision to go with MHP who we believe can provide us with the best
solution from a cost and a range point of view".Brian Mackenzie, Managing Director of MHP, said: "Everyone here is
obviously very pleased that we have been selected. I feel that our
independence, range and flexibility to respond quickly to individual
requirements played a big part in being granted this status".
