Watson-Marlow Previews its Intelligent Pumps at HET Instrument 2006

Watson-Marlow Ltd (Falmouth, Cornwall, England) is showing its latest 520 and 620 pump series on stand 10A024 at this year’s HET Instrument exhibition which takes place in Utrecht, Holland from 30 October to 3 November. Both series are now available with Profibus technology, offering reduced installation and operating costs plus enhanced control and diagnostics for intelligent process pumping. At HET Instruments Watson-Marlow is also previewing its newest series of pumps, the 720 Series.

The 520 LoadSure® range has been designed to offer pumping pressures up to 7 bar providing a drop-in replacement for troublesome mechanical diaphragm pumps. Using the Watson-Marlow 520 Series pumps and patented LoadSure® elements, element change-over takes less than one minute and the operator does not need to be a specialist pump fitter.

520 cased and close coupled pumps already form the best selling range in the company's portfolio, providing the robustness and reliability needed by industrial process users. The IP66 rated 520Du/RE facilitates dual analogue operation, incorporates 24V industrial logic and volt free pump-status I/O and can be password protected.

Watson-Marlow 620 LoadSure® series offers exceptional levels of performance, accuracy and output for process industries, according to the company. Available in a robust IP66 washdown package the pumps feature a choice of drives and pumpheads, PIN-secure Process Protection (PPP) and guarantee minimal downtime. The series represents the next generation in medium-sized peristaltic pumps with flow rates up to 18 litre/minute. In addition to the PIN feature, the 620 series comes with Watson-Marlow's patented CIP LoadSure® technology to ensure rapid tube loading. LoadSure® tubing elements bring huge benefits over traditional diaphragm, impeller and lobe pumps, claims Watson-Marlow.

Using Profibus Watson-Marlow offers intelligent pumps that bring immediate operating expenditure savings through:

-- Predictive maintenance based on device health
-- Rapid fault diagnosis and reduced down-time
-- Simple integration to efficient and intelligent systems
-- Quality assurance through a single, central controller

With Watson-Marlow’s Profibus pumps, customers in new sites can also reduce their capital expenditure due to the limited wiring requirements of the pumps. At HET Instrument, Watson-Marlow will also show a range of OEM pumps. Engineers will be available on stand 10A024 for the duration of the exhibition to answer any questions about Watson-Marlow products and to discuss the many benefits of peristaltic technology for laboratory and biotech and pharmaceutical applications.
