Figgjo AS Awarded Design Prizes

Figgjo AS has been awarded ”The Norwegian Design Award” for two of the china company’s products developed this year – Figgjo Hval and Figgjo Egg. The awards were presented at the Norwegian Design Council’s annual Design Day.

Figgjo Hval
Figgjo Hval can be regarded as Figgjo’s version of the traditional Asian rice spoon, but with a wider range of uses. Figgjo collaborates closely with trendsetters in the food industry in order to be able to assess trends early on and develop relevant products. One recurring theme in feedback is the wish for a range of small items with varying capacities and products that make it possible to isolate flavours, temperatures and condiments on a single plate. Figgjo Hval is a response to this demand and comes in sizes of 2, 3 and 4 cl. The products can be used to create innovative serving solutions and allow new ways of presenting food.

Figgjo Egg
Like all Figgjo products, Figgjo Egg has been designed for serving and presentation of food in the professional market. This market is constantly developing and keeps demanding new unusual and “innovative” products. Figgjo Egg allows an alternative, unique way of presenting a meal. Figgjo Egg is an attempt to meet chefs’ wishes for ways of being able to isolate flavours and condiments on a single plate, while the lids also allow variations in temperature. Figgjo Egg consists of an eating surface with two depressions shaped like half an egg and comes with lids shaped like the other half of the egg. The product acts as a plate and a bowl.
