LAT Expands to Distribute Digilab FTIR Products in UK

Lambda Advanced Technology (Wembley, Middx, England) has announced a major expansion in its operation following its appointment by Digilab LLC to be exclusive UK distributor for Digilab's range of FTIR spectrometers and FTIR imaging systems. As UK distributor of the Hitachi range of UV/Visible and fluorescence spectrophotometers, LAT has been working closely with Digilab since Digilab assumed European distribution rights for the products from Hitachi High-Technologies in May 2003.

Expansion in LAT's product portfolio has been accompanied by expansion in the sales support team. LAT has appointed Dr Gareth Barnard as product specialist for the Digilab products. Dr Barnard is an expert in FTIR techniques and has extensive experience in spectrometer sales, having previously worked for Nicolet and Varian.

LAT Sales and Marketing Director, Vince Phelan, commented: "The addition of the Digilab FTIR products further strengthens our portfolio of molecular spectroscopy products and positions us as one of the fastest growing specialists in atomic and molecular spectroscopy sales in the UK. Gareth Barnard brings a wealth of experience to the company and will be a significant asset to us. However we believe in providing our customers with full back-up. We are in a unique position to offer technical and applications advice, service and training as well as supplying the instrumentation itself".
