CIF Firms Up on Ceramic Futures Date

CIF, the Ceramic Industry Forum, says that managing directors and other key decision makers from the UK ceramic industry are set to join them at an event entitled 'The future is in your hands' on 3 December 2003 at the JCB headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire, England. The seminar will provide delegates with an opportunity to explore drivers for change affecting the industry and their businesses in the future.

Sarah Graham, Senior Consultant at the Future Foundation - a leading independent think-tank - will be the keynote speaker at the event and will offer an overview of the future changes that will occur in the UK and the USA. During the first session, Sarah will outline the meaning of trends in labour markets, family life, household spending, new technologies, shopping, corporate ethics, longevity, gender roles, time-use cultures and political choice, giving delegates an insight into changes that will be occurring in the future.

After Sarah's initial talk, delegates will break out into groups to identify and discuss which changes will most directly affect their own businesses in the future. She will be on hand to help delegates understand all of the opportunities and threats that a shifting environment may hold for them.

Sue Evans, CIF Chief Executive, commented: "It is vital for the CIF to promote the importance of this type of market intelligence information as it will be the key to companies being able to respond appropriately to changes in their current markets as well as allowing them to predict ones".
