China Glass & Enamel 2001

The 4th China International Glass & Enamel Industrial Technology & Machinery Exhibition will be held from 26-28 February 2001 in the Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center. With a view to following the development of glass and enamel industries in eastern and southern China, the Chinese Ceramic Society has staged consecutively international glass and enamel exhibitions in Shanghai three times; shows which have proved successful. At the last exhibition, the number of exhibitors reached more than 250 and the exhibition area of the 2001 event will exceed that of last time.

Eastern and southern China is situated in the forefront of reform and openness in China. Shanghai is the seaport of the Yangtze River. For the last five years, the investment in the municipal capital construction in Shanghai has registered a 700% increase over that of the 1980s. The organisers predict that Shanghai will become, following Hong Kong, another international financial metropolis in Asia. The rapid development of architectural, automobile and decoration industries has brought along with it the development of the glass industry. The glass and enamel industries in the provinces of Jiangsu, Anshui, Shandong, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Guangxi, which lie in an area radiated out from Shanghai, are said to have bright prospects.
