Cersaie - Countdown Begins Immediately to 2007 Show
The next Cersaie, International Exhibition of Ceramic Tiles and Bathroom Furnishings, will be held in the Bologna exhibition centre from 2-6 October 2007. This 25th anniversary edition will have an especially broad programme to celebrate a quarter of a century of history of a show that is the world’s leading event for its two sectors.
According to the latest report from the organising company, Cersaie’s international scope was confirmed by the figures for the 2006 event. A total of 90,949 visitors converged on the Bologna exhibition centre, a 2.7% increase over 2005 and the highest number since the show became a five-day event.
Of the 1,061 exhibitors, 211 were foreign companies from 32 different countries, while the number of foreign attendees amounted to 26,411, 6.9% more than the 24,711 of 2005. This brings the share of foreign visitors to 29%, the highest figure for a Bologna trade show and one of the highest at a national and international level in this field.
The 2006 show began with an inaugural conference entitled 'Competition and knowledge as new growth factors'. The event was moderated by Edmondo Berselli, Director of the magazine Il Mulino and featured talks by the Minister for Economic Development Pier Luigi Bersani and Assopiastrelle Chairman Alfonso Panzani.
Another highlight was the International Press Conference, attended by more than 200 journalists from all over the world and featuring the presentation of the Assopiastrelle Distributor Award and the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Journalism Award 2006.
Last but not least was the highly successful conference entitled 'Bologna and Cersaie – Visions for a new architecture' which featured addresses by architects Thom Mayne and Massimiliano Fuksas, luminaries of the world of design and key figures in the cultural debate at an international level.
Cersaie is promoted by Assopiastrelle and organised by Edi.Cer. Spa in cooperation with Promos. The 2007 show will be open to professionals from Tuesday 2 October to Friday 5 October from 09.00h to 19.00h and on Saturday 6 October from 09.00h to 18.00h. The public will be admitted on Friday and Saturday.
