Safety Recall on Ceramic Kettle Product

Ceraflame Inc (New York, USA) has issued an important safety recall announcement with reference to around 3,000 ceramic tea kettles because it has been discovered that they could break or burst while on the stovetop over high heat. In order to avoid serious injury, the company is encouraging all customer who may have purchased the 'Ceraflame Brand Ceramic Stove Top Tea Kettle' - which were sold in stores and through speciality catalogues from 1 October 2000 - to return the kettle to the place of purchase for an exchange or refund.

Ceraflame Inc is the North American marketing branch of the Brazilian ceramic company Ceraflame Brazil. The kettle in question is glazed black, has either a brown wooden handle or a ceramic one, and has 'Made in Brazil' on the backstamp. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have been six reports of the kettle breaking but no injuries as a result.
