Daniel Platt's Capacity Boosted After Acquisition

Following its recent acquisition by the Country Manor Bricks Group (Dublin, Eire), natural clay floor and roof tile manufacturer Daniel Platt Ltd (Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England) says it is better placed to meet the needs of architects, specifiers and the growing self-build market. In the short space of time since the acquisition was completed, Daniel Platt has almost doubled its capacity to produce traditionally made clay roof tiles, products which are increasingly in demand across both the new build and restoration sectors.

Founded in Dublin in 1979 by current Chairman, Ken O'Sullivan, Country Manor Bricks (CMB) was formed to rekindle an interest in beautiful natural building materials in an era when concrete and plastic products were still in vogue. In 1980, CMB launched a highly successful range of architectural bricks and today boasts a wide choice of natural building fashion products, sourced from around Europe.

Daniel Platt's Managing Director David Smart said: "With the backing of CMB's considerable resources, I firmly believe that Daniel Platt Ltd will continue to go from strength to strength. With an already superb product range and a totally dedicated, highly skilled workforce, Daniel Platt is ideally placed to respond to market changes, continue to meet the needs of architects and specifiers - and more importantly - begin to introduce exciting new building products that will provide a wealth of scope for both existing and new customers".
