Bohlin Instruments Acquires Rosand Rheology Product Lines

Bohlin Instruments Ltd (Cirencester, England) has acquired the rheology product lines of Rosand Precision Ltd, together with the Rosand trademark. The product lines included in the arrangement are the RH7 and the RH2000 capillary rheometers, as well as melt flow index products, on-line rheology products and VICAT softening point equipment.

Bohlin will market the products - which will retain the Rosand brand - through its existing sales channels including direct operations in Germany and the USA, as well as the UK.

Bohlin's management expects that the acquisition will add substantially to revenues in 2001, which have been rising by over 20% per annum based on organic growth. Bohlin Group's managing director Dr Richard Hall commented: "The Rosand product lines are entirely complementary to Bohlin's ongoing business activity which is focuses on rotational rheometers. Indeed, the Rosand product line has contributed significantly to our German revenues since we started to act as a distributor in 1996. The move serves to reinforce our position as a major global player in the rheology business."
