Alcalagres Inaugurates New Facilities

The President of the autonomous region of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, inaugurated the new facilities of Alcalagres in Carmarma de Estruelas, Madrid, Spain. Overall, there has been an investment there of 18 million euro.

In the main, funds were allocated for the installation of two new 4,600 metric ton presses, dry-process colouring lines and what amounts to the world's largest tile polishing line. Together with the company's existing facilities, these new investments will boost the Alcalagres production.

The company, which has now been in business for 15 years, exports 30% of its production to more than 35 countries. It has a subsidiary in the USA and over 900 distribution outlets all over Spain through its eight branches. Alcalagres specialises in the manufacture and sale of unglazed porcelain tiles.
