£1 Million Investment Announced to Make Ceramics Work on the Web

Although 85% of UK ceramic manufacturers have access to the Internet, almost all admit that they are not utilising this resource to its full potential, says a new entrant to the field. Andrew Eardley, industry consultant and Managing Director of Ceramic Works Ltd (Stafford, England) has created what the company describes as a unique web site portal set up purely for the dedicated use of UK ceramic manufacturers.

"I know that collectively the UK ceramics industry can definitely achieve success," says Andrew. "That is why I am confidently investing 1 million over the next two years to ensure that this success happens".

Company research apparently shows that although ceramic companies believe the web to be the way forward in generating new business, many are finding it difficult to invest sufficiently in this area in order to have a significant presence on the web.

The newly announced website aims to change this. The service will enable manufacturers to advertise their products to maximum effect and allow potential buyers to fulfil their purchasing needs at the click of a button. Ceramic Works says that it offers a fantastic opportunity for the ceramic industry to compete in the world market.

All UK ceramic companies will be featured on the site with a listing and contact details, free of charge. However, the site's marketing effort is aimed to attract ceramic buyers from across the world and the company reports that experience has shown that these buyers want to find what they are looking for as speedily and efficiently as possible. That is why Ceramic Works has created a system that matches potential suppliers or manufacturers with the requirements of buyers - instantly. "It is just what the UK ceramics industry has been waiting for," says Andrew Eardley. "We now have a fast, efficient, user friendly vehicle with which to drive the industry forward."

Ceramic companies can promote their business on the site and in, detailing their business capabilities and strengths within the marketplace, they can ensure that every appropriate enquiry or order raised through the database will be directed towards them.

"I have always been a loyal supporter of the UK ceramics industry," says Andrew, "and so, although this is a huge investment, I am absolutely confident that the industry as a whole will benefit from this unique system."
