Sacmi’s Partnership with Vitra-Eczacibasi Goes from Strength to Strength

The Vitra-Eczacibasi Group, Turkey’s leading producer of top-of-the-range tiles and sanitaryware, is about to start up its second porcelain tile plant within the Bozuyuk production facility. Eczacibasi, a long-standing purchaser of Sacmi machines and plants, is, in fact, about to start up two ATM18 spray dryers, two 34,000-litre discontinuous mills and related accessories for the completion of the grinding department.

Also being supplied are a PH2590 press for the production of small and medium-size porcelain tiles, an EVA793 vertical dryer and a 67.7-metre FMS2230 kiln - all belonging to the very latest generation of Sacmi Group machines.

The plant will mainly produce 15cm x 15cm and 20cm x 20cm tiles with a thickness of 8mm-14mm and will, during the initial phase, have an output capacity of 3,500 square metres per day of high-added-value tiles. This plant, which will flank the others in Bozuyuk, Tuzla (Istanbul) and Ireland, will raise the Vitra-Eczacibasi Group’s overall capacity to over 17 million sq m per year – every single one made with Sacmi technology.
