SACMI Continues Supply of Sanitaryware Production Plant in Middle East

Helping R.A.K. to expand its sanitaryware production from an early 150,000 pieces per year to the current level of 1.2 million pieces per year, SACMI (Imola, Italy) has installed complete systems - manual casting and casting in batteries with plaster moulds integrated with medium pressure casting with porous resin moulds - and is set to supply yet more plant to facilitate further expansion of production.

At the beginning of this year a new line was being installed for the production of shower trays and kitchen sinks in fireclay.

Major investment planned with SACMI for later in the year/next year has also just been announced: R.A.K. will be taking on board a new SACMI tunnel kiln which will enable the company to boost production by half a million units, to 1.7 million pieces per year.

The company now produces more than 200 different sanitaryware and related items, using first class raw materials and backed by ISO 9000 certification. In-house response to mould requirements was enhanced when SACMI transferred the know-how for the production of resin moulds into the UAE-based factory.

A recent development has been the introduction of an open-rim WC manufactured with an AVE 040 high pressure casting machine using resin moulds. The evolution of the company's sanitaryware project is continuous.
