RAK Ceramics to Expand MC6 Tile Factory

The expansion project of the MC6 factory operated by RAK Ceramics (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE) will continue with the collaboration of major Italian supplier, SITI–B&T Group.

It has just been announced that the following equipment will become operative in the second half of 2008: three 34,000-litre discontinuous mills; a 2,400-litre atomiser; a 1,000-ton press with 1450mm span; a horizontal dryer with three layers and useful loading dimensions of 2250mm and length of 111.14 metres; a single-channel 51.06-metre roller kiln with infeed port of 2000mm. The supply also includes the storage system and the storage machines that will back up the whole line.

The new line will offer a daily production capacity of 3,000 square metres and will be used to produce glazed stoneware tiles in in-fill sizes of 100mm x 100mm up to 300mm x 300mm.
