NPL to Host Data Converters Seminar

National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is hosting a Data Converters Seminar on 7 June 2006 covering the current topics of characterisation and performance optimisation. This event will feature presentations by experts from Cardiff University, Data Translation Ltd, National Instruments, Metron Designs, PTB and NPL.

The event brings together the semiconductor industry, calibration laboratories, test equipment and data acquisition systems manufacturers and users to discuss the characterisation of data converters current procedures, best practice for using data converters and the future metrological needs in the sector.

Presentations will focus on different methods for the characterisation of data converters and will be presented and compared, with emphasis on the methods currently used in the semiconductor industry. Techniques and best practice advice on how to obtain the maximum performance from a data converter will be presented. The day will close with a panel discussion on the metrological needs of data converters.

This unique seminar has been planned to facilitate active and informal networking and knowledge transfer. The event will include an extensive exhibition area with the following companies, giving delegates the opportunity to meet and make contacts.

· Amplicon
· Data Translation
· Fluke
· Keithley
· LeCroy
· National Instruments
· Sematron
· Tektronix
· The Institute of Engineering and Technology
