More Business for Mogensen at Blockleys

Mogensen Raw Materials Handling (Grantham, Lincs, England) has recently commissioned a Type S 2036 Mogensen Sizer - together with a Type F 2005 C vibratory spreader feeder - at the Blockleys Brick plant in Telford, Shropshire. The equipment was installed by Craven Fawcett (1997) Ltd and forms part of Blockleys' Phase 2 Expansion Plan.

The two-metre Mogensen Sizer is fitted with three decks, equipped with Mogensen's own electric deck heating system to avoid screen blockages, and is handling 43tph of moist (approximately 8% water) pan-milled clay used in the manufacture of facing bricks and clay pavers.

The separation is at approximately 1.5mm with more than 75% of the feed passing through the sizer as usable product and the oversize material being recycled to the pan mill. Both the sizer and the feeder are fully dust-proofed. Mogensen has supplied flexible, dust-proof connectors for all the transfer points between the feed conveyor system, the feeder, the sizer and the product chutes. All contact surfaces in the F 2005 C feeder are lined with Perplas to avoid the build-up of clay.

The company added that three 2-metre Mogensen sizers and feeders have been working satisfactorily on similar duties at Blockleys' Telford plant for several years.
