Conference on Computational Modelling & Simulation

The 3rd International Conference on Computational Modelling and Simulation
of Materials will be held in Acireale, Sicily, Italy from 30 May to 4 June
2004. It follows the first two events which were staged in Florence in 1998
and 2002.

Scope of the conference is to cover the state-of-the-art aspects of
materials theory and modelling, plus application of computational techniques
to fundamental and applied aspects concerning the chemistry, physics,
structure, processing and properties of materials.

In addition, the conference will discuss the application of the
computational tool to problems involved in the design and operation of
advanced devices and to predictive modelling applied to the materials
industry manufacturing. A special symposium will be devoted to
computational nanotechnology. Materials covered include metals, ceramics,
polymers, hybrid materials, composites, etc.

The main conference will be co-chaired by Tomas Diaz de la Rubia (USA),
Jean-Louis Barrat (France) and Masao Doi (Japan). The special symposium -
Modelling and Simulating Materials Nanoworld - will be co-chaired by W A
Goddard III (USA), A Rubio (Spain) and M Tsukada (Japan). A large
international participation is expected.

The first announcement and Call for Papers can be viewed on the conference
