Marjan Tile Invests in New, Large Format Tile Plant

Marjan Tile, the long-standing producer based in Isfahan, Iran, has confirmed its role as market leader in the top-quality segment by choosing once again the very best technology from Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) to complete its expansion plans.

Marjan has decided to extend its production range with a line of large single-fired red / porcelain flooring tiles. The goal is to offer its customers outstanding products that can be made using the very latest technology.

The production line for these large formats consists of a PH3590 press, which allows ever-larger tiles to be made, flanked by a high performance EVA993 vertical dryer. There follows a 10.5-metre JMP pre-kiln and a 105 metre-long, wide-infeed (2850mm) FMP kiln; the latter is extremely flexible and can take a vast range of formats so as to maximise output capacity.

The JMP and FMP series Sacmi kilns are – in terms of performance, design, energy savings, component quality and reliability – right on the cutting edge of international firing process development, according to the Imola company. Moreover, the kiln uses the MDR energy recovery system, lowering production costs even further.

Sacmi said that this new line is expected to reach maximum output capacity in late summer 2009, “proving that, even when there is a crisis, investing in technology and product quality is always a winning, profitable choice”.
