New Kiln Control Package

Featuring two computers for separate control of the production process and data management, Sailor is the new 'navigator' from Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) with a simple, easy-to-use interface that is claimed to make kiln control effortless.

Featuring a touchscreen system, Sailor is said to be extremely user friendly and allows action to be taken quickly as and when necessary - a feature that goes hand in hand with the efficiency and security offered by the system.

The two PCs are networked together: if there is a fault on the production process computer, immediate real-time back-up of the control system is executed on the computer normally dedicated to data management. In this way, the operator can always count on continuity of operation and data recording.

With the new Sailor panel, it is possible to remote control the process. A standard internet connection allows remote assistance and data management from anywhere in the world.

Hardware is the same for both tiles and whiteware while the software - contained on a cartridge-like hard disk - changes according the product. The synoptic display is also customised to match the kiln purchased by the customer. The new panel also includes an interactive vocal Help function, audio/video training courses and technical manuals.
