KeraTech System Prevents Contact-Generated Arching Phenomenon

KeraTech, a Sacmi Group company specialising in the production of ceramic rollers, has a long history of developing specific solutions that reflect the fast technological progress sweeping through the ceramic products firing industry.

Extensive experience - gained over these last few years from research into, among other things, the rapid cooling process - has allowed KeraTech to diversify the technical characteristics of the roller and so optimise the way tiles are fed into the final part of the kiln.

Just announced, more specifically, the new KMRR1/S rapid cooling zone roller features increased thermal conductivity, thus simultaneously reducing the expansion coefficient. This prevents the classic contact-generated arching phenomenon. However, says the company, the most important new characteristic is an increased modulus of elasticity compared to that on adjoining rollers in the firing zone.

KeraTech reported that tests carried out on the premises of major producers resulted in the total disappearance of transverse tile warping.
