Kanthal Adds to Superthal Heating Module Range

Heating specialist Kanthal is launching six new products in its Superthal
range of heating modules. Each new product has been designed and developed
with specific end use applications or industries in mind.

Superthal modules combine Kanthal Super heating elements with ceramic fibre
to provide compact and modular heating systems which can be tailored to
specific applications. The new products extend the existing range using
developments in the Superthal technology.

Standard Superthal modules - half cylinders and muffles - are designed for
element temperatures up to 1600°C. The new Superthal HT uses a newly
developed and special Kanthal Super element material to increase the
temperature capability to 1725°C. The new modules, for use in vertical tube
furnaces, are available in standard sizes or as specially designed heating
packages with heating elements, back insulation and stainless steel casing.

Additionally, there is now Mini-Superthal aimed at melting and processing
applications in lab and dental/medical situations; Superthal Flat Panels for
feeder forehearths in the glass industry; Kanthal High Power Reflector for
applications such as billet heating and aluminium melting furnaces; a new
generation of short wave infra-red radiators which can be used in high
temperature sintering; and the Superthal Micro Heater for fast heating and
precise ramping in applications such as the welding and processing of
optical fibres, as well as high temperature use with a variety of materials.
