Home Extension Increase On the Up Says Baggeridge

Home extensions are on the increase across the UK, according to a study undertaken by Baggeridge Brick. The increase in home extensions comes on the back of new research undertaken by the Sedgley-based manufacturer which reveals that nationally, statistics have increased from 64,692 in 1999/2000 to 80,494 in 2003/2004, a rise of almost 25%.

Mark Morris, Sales Director at Baggeridge, believes that this rise could be attributed to the ongoing increase in house prices across the country.

He said: "For many people, it's easier just to extend the existing family home rather than up sticks and move house, and this looks set to continue as prices carry on fluctuating".

With this information now available, coupled with Baggeridge's in-house design services department - which works closely with architects and merchants to address individual refurbishment or extension issues - customers who choose Baggeridge's products can be assured of a one-stop quality service from beginning to end, said the company.

Mark Morris added: "Whether a project involves the restoration of brickwork in a building of historical quality or features new buildings or extensions where compatibility with the surrounding architecture is of prime consideration, our refurbishment range can achieve the right match and the brochure reflects this perfectly".
