Milling, Pressing and Pelletising for Ceramic Component Manufacture

J R Dare Engineering Ltd has unveiled recently produced specialist ceramic manufacturing machinery, used principally for the high cost/technical section of the industry.

The company's Mixer Mill/Calender System is fully automatic and incorporates a patented mixing system. The hydraulically operated nip, individual speed rolls, friction ratio and product removal functions are pre-set and are said to combine to provide accurate and repeatable cycle times, whilst governing the amount of mixing and grain structure size. Liquid and material feed systems are incorporated. The automatic product removal system on the mixer passes the mixed compound through the vertical calender nip for accurate sheet/slab production, e.g. in grinding wheel manufacture.

Dare's 400-ton Automatic Shuttle Press allows fast production times due to the fact that when it is curing products, the other table is in the course of being set up, thus ensuring full press and operator utilisation.

Finally, the company has on offer Pelleter Preformer Systems. These can be used for the rapid and accurate compaction and shaping of a wide variety of ceramic powders.

The company's range for the ceramic industry also includes multi-mould ceramic tile/brick hydraulic presses with automatic proportioning and product removal systems.
