CARBO Ceramics Names New Vice President, Marketing and Sales

CARBO Ceramics Inc (Irving, TX, USA), the world's leading manufacturer of ceramic proppants for use in the hydraulic fracturing of natural gas and oil wells and the leading supplier of fracture and reservoir diagnostic services, has announced that it has appointed David Gallagher as Vice President, Marketing and Sales.

Mr Gallagher has more than 26 years of experience in the oilfield service industry with Schlumberger Ltd. Within the Schlumberger Oilfield Services business, he served as Schlumberger Dowell Director of Product Development for Stimulation and Intervention Technologies, Director of Marketing for Schlumberger U.S. land division and most recently served as Director of Marketing for Venezuela, Trinidad and the Caribbean.

Gary Kolstad, the company's President and CEO said: "We are fortunate to have someone with David's considerable experience in the worldwide oil and gas service industry and with extensive knowledge of all aspects of hydraulic fracturing to direct the global expansion of our business. David has considerable experience in developing the client-based solutions that will be a key to our future growth strategy. We expect to continue to add to our global marketing capabilities under David's leadership as we expand the use of our industry-leading technologies in fracture conductivity and fracture and reservoir diagnostic services".

The company also announced that Chris Wright, the founder of Pinnacle Technologies, has been named the first CARBO Fellow. The CARBO Fellowship programme has been initiated to recognise employees that demonstrate industry-leading technical expertise that creates value for clients and drives business strategy. Mr Wright has resigned from his position as Vice President, Business Development but will continue to be a key technical advisor to the company.
