Brick Industry Association Names New Officers


The USA's Brick Industry Association (BIA) has named its new officers, who
will serve a two-year term.

Bob Belden (president, The Belden Brick Co) leads as chairman; Steven
Matsick (president, Glen-Gery Corp) is vice chairman; Bill Chapman
(president, Clay-Ingels Co) is secretary; and Jim Russell
(secretary-treasurer and vice president, Cement Products & Supply Co) is
treasurer.

BIA chairman Bob Belden represents the fourth generation to manage The
Belden brick Co - founded back in 1885 - along with chairman and CEO Bill
Belden Jr.

Since joining Glen-Gery Corp in 1981, BIA vice chairman Seven Matsick became
president in 1996 and retained his position through the period of
acquisition of the company by CRH PLC of Ireland.

BIA secretary Bill Chapman, president of Clay-Ingles Co since 1987, leads a
third generation family business that sells brick, masonry products,
windows, doors and millwork in Kentucky and north Florida.

Treasurer Jim Russell joined Cement Products in 1975. He was elected to the
board of the National Association of Brick Distributors in 1990 and recently
completed his term as chairman of the Distributors' Council. Jim Russell
and his cousin and company president Barry Zimmerman represent the principal
ownership of the family business, located in Lakeland, Florida since 1912.
