Acimac's President Designate Presents Programme and Team

Acimac's new President Designate, Pietro Cassani, has presented his programme and the team that will work with him in running the association. The presidential committee will be made up of three vice-presidents, all representing major companies:

Mr Cassani has forecast a scenario of substantial stability for the ceramics industry over the next four years. Acimac member companies will therefore be aiming to hold their ground in terms of turnover and presence in strategic areas world-wide by adopting suitable policies and promotional strategies.

The incoming president intends to insist on company rationalisation, promoting increased efficiency and flexibility and to focus intense attention on attaining critical business dimension, vital for reducing manufacturing costs, reinforcing brands, consolidating markets and investing more in research. “Our company system needs an overhaul,” Pietro Cassani stated, “and needs to create new alliances and aggregations if it is to adapt to the new competitive context and raise the technological standards of its products.”

On the subject of the Italian ceramic district’s future, Mr Cassani expressed the hope that progress would be made towards kinds of aggregation inspired more directly by manufacturing logic and network creation among different companies, in order to better exploit expertise, promote research and technology transfer and develop high tech companies operating in the market. “I intend to exert every possible effort to achieve these goals through dialogue with other institutional partners,” he said.

On his own role in Acimac, Pietro Cassani commented: “Over its twenty years of activity the association has carried out an immense amount of activity of the highest quality. I intend my own contribution to be made within a perspective of continuity, and I express the fullest appreciation of the actions of the presidents who have preceded me. I have chosen a young and highly motivated team of vice-presidents, with outstanding managerial abilities and in-depth knowledge of our sector. A strong team that will share with me the honour of guiding the association. Over the coming months I intend to delegate important duties among my team, taking into account the demanding roles we all play within our respective companies”.
