Yageo Releases World's Smallest Ceramic Antenna for Bluetooth/WLAN Applications

Yageo Corporation (Hsin Tien, Taipei) has announced the release of the 2012 LTCC antenna, described as the world's smallest ceramic antenna designed for the dynamic Bluetooth and WLAN applications. Yageo's 2012 antenna, measuring 2.0mm x 1.2mm x 1.1mm, takes up 60% less space than 3216 to effectively meet the stringent miniaturisation requirement of circuit boards in increasingly compact portable consumer electronic gadgets. RoHS compliant, Yageo is taking delivery of sample 2012s to customers with mass production scheduled for the second quarter of this year.

Yageo's 2012 antenna solution, featuring a central frequency of 2.45GHz and bandwidth of at least 70MHz, is produced adopting the LTCC processing technology and high-k (up to 20) dielectric material technology developed in-house.

Alan Lee, Yageo's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, said: "Yageo has a comprehensive and industry leading ceramic antenna solution portfolio available to customers worldwide. The new 2012 antenna will further strengthen our ability to satisfy handheld PDA and smartphone makers' continued search for superior miniaturized solutions in order to inlay multiple antennas on next generation portable devices".
